From idea to reality

It all started with the motive.
A shy deer, standing calmly in the woods, a bird perched on its back. Above, a starry sky with a crescent moon. A scene from nature that radiates stillness and leaves room for imagination while engrossed in the pages of a book.

Then we went to the artist's shop.
Thick paper for printing, linocut ink, linoleum blocks, an ink roller, a glass for spreading the ink, and most importantly: the right carving tools. The first prints were… let's just say: instructive.
Too much pressure and the ink ran directly into the fine grooves, turning a leaf into a dot. Too little ink and you could only guess where the deer was supposed to be.

With each print, with each attempt, it improved, and one slowly develops a feel for the material, the printing process, and the color. Nevertheless, each piece remained a surprise.

A bookmark you won't put down.

Once the prints were successful, the designs were cut out.
And this was precisely where one thing was important: this voucher should n't disappear after being redeemed. Not just a piece of paper ending up in the trash. It should be a bookmark – a companion between the pages of one's favorite book. A voucher and a small work of art in one.

When you're completely immersed in another world while reading, the subject matter should draw you in and tell stories: of silent forests, of deer and birds, of nights under stars and moonlight. Of a world that still exists, but which we often barely notice in our digital everyday lives.
