1. No fragrances – maximum skin compatibility

In a time of increasing intolerance, synthetic fragrances are problematic for sensitive skin and often trigger allergies. While pure essential oils are generally more tolerable, people with fragrance allergies and sensitive skin are advised to use fragrance-free skincare products. Products labeled "fragrance-free" may still contain fragrances intended to mask unpleasant odors. The only way to be sure is to carefully check the ingredients on the label.

The myrto facial care is completely free of fragrances, but retains the natural scent of the cold-pressed organic oils and plant extracts with a high active ingredient content.

• Why not use synthetic fragrances? These are considered common allergy triggers and are especially problematic for sensitive skin.
• Natural fragrance alternative: Our products do not contain essential oils. The subtle fragrance comes exclusively from cold-pressed organic oils and plant extracts.

2. Alcohol-free – for protection and moisture

To ensure the best possible skin compatibility, we avoid all ingredients that could irritate sensitive skin. Experience has shown that alcohol dries out the skin – even in low concentrations on sensitive skin. Alcohol penetrates the skin's protective barrier layer and dissolves the structure of the skin's own lipids (fats). Many natural cosmetics companies exploit the preservative properties of alcohol and use 15% or more alcohol in their formulations to extend the shelf life of their products. Another problem with the use of alcohol is the denaturants commonly found in cosmetically used alcohol – declared on the label as "alcohol denat." These additives are known to be skin irritants and potentially allergenic.

3. Emulsifier-free – for a healthy skin barrier

All myrto products are formulated without conventional emulsifiers. Emulsifiers – in natural cosmetics, usually based on palm oil – combine the water-based and oil-based components of a cream. However, conventional emulsifiers have the unpleasant side effect of dissolving and washing out the skin's own protective substances from the uppermost layer of skin. Our innovative emulsifier-free plant fiber concept ensures that the protective skin barrier of sensitive facial skin is maintained. This allows the skin to retain more moisture sustainably and also protect itself from harmful external environmental influences. The emulsifier-free myrto plant fiber concept supports the natural balance of skin functions for a smooth, soft, and well-nourished complexion free of blemishes.

4. Palm oil-free & PETA-certified – for the environment & skin

Myrto organic facial care is vegan and complies with all common natural cosmetics certifications, such as Natrue, BDIH, Cosmos, and Ecocert. We use only natural ingredients. All plant extracts come from certified organic cultivation or controlled wild collection. All myrto facial care products are free of silicones, petroleum derivatives, alcohol, preservatives, and fragrances.

So, if you tend to have blemish-prone, oily, or sensitive skin, you should specifically look for non-comedogenic cosmetics.
