In addition to organic production, we base our ingredients on clear ethical criteria. We support fair trade projects wherever possible, for example in Uganda ( organic shea butter ), Morocco ( organic argan oil ) or Brazil ( organic babassu oil ). This promotes regional village agriculture in small individual farms and cooperatives, traditional production methods are preserved and the increasing exodus of the population from rural areas can be stemmed. Fair trade prices for producers ensure the continued existence of small farms with cultivation areas of around 10 hectares or less. This support ensures the continued existence of small farms and strengthens local infrastructure, for example by building schools, repairing water pumps or innovative projects such as ecological micro-biogas plants that improve the quality of life in remote areas.

All myrto body care products do not contain conventional emulsifiers. Common emulsifiers, often based on palm oil, combine water and oil phases in cosmetic products, but can also dissolve the skin's own protective substances from the upper layer of skin. Our innovative emulsifier-free plant fiber concept preserves the protective skin barrier so that the skin can store moisture better and more sustainably. At the same time, it actively protects itself from external influences. This emulsifier-free formula supports the skin's natural balance and ensures a healthy, well-cared-for complexion.

The myrto organic body care is vegan and complies with all common natural cosmetics certifications such as Natrue, BDIH, Cosmos or Ecocert. We only use natural ingredients. All plant extracts come from controlled organic cultivation or controlled wild collection. All myrto facial care is free of silicones, petroleum derivatives, alcohol, preservatives and fragrances. Like all myrto products, the facial care also bears the Cruelty Free & Vegan seal in accordance with the strict guidelines of PETA, Germany's largest animal rights organization. The plant extracts are predominantly obtained through gentle CO2 extraction. Using CO2 extraction, the use of hazardous chemicals and solvents can be completely avoided. Solvent-free CO2 extracts are therefore environmentally friendly. The extraction process takes place without oxygen, protecting the sensitive natural substances from oxidation and loss of active ingredients. These plant extracts are microbiologically sterile, antibacterial, and contain the entire spectrum of natural plant ingredients in their authentic integrity. No other process allows the complete removal of possible heavy metals and other toxic contaminants in the plant material. CO2 extractions release significantly more oil-based active ingredients than is possible through pure pressing. Especially with sensitive raw materials, they contain components that are not found at all or in far less concentrated form in conventionally produced plant extracts.

CO2 extraction is the most modern and effective method for extracting ingredients from heat-sensitive plant and flower material in a solvent-free and allergen-free manner without reducing the active ingredient content.

Sustainability and ethical responsibility

Myrto body care contains highly pure plant extracts from organic farming – a contribution to combating conventional agriculture and its monocultures. Due to the still limited organic farming areas in Europe, the bioavailability of individual raw materials may occasionally fluctuate.

Myrto supports fair trade projects in countries such as Uganda, Morocco, and Brazil. These projects promote regional, village-based agriculture, enable fair prices, and create opportunities through social projects such as school construction or self-sufficient biogas plants for a better quality of life in remote villages.

This hand spray combines undenatured organic alcohol with rose water and essential oils of grapefruit, tea tree, and lavender. It moisturizes with aloe vera and glycerin and neutralizes germs with 72% organic alcohol.
