Its special feature lies in its high content of palmitoleic acid – a skin-related fatty acid that strengthens the skin's barrier function, penetrates deeply, and supports the absorption of fat-soluble active ingredients. Macadamia oil is a versatile skincare classic for dry, sensitive, and mature skin.
Origin & Production
The evergreen macadamia tree originates from the rainforests of Australia and belongs to the Proteaceae family. Growing up to 15 meters tall, the tree bears extremely hard-shelled nuts, whose oil-rich seeds are cold-pressed. This process produces a high-quality, golden-yellow oil with a mild, nutty aroma that is rich in vitamins, flavonoids, and antioxidants.
Effect on skin and senses

Macadamia oil contains approximately 20% palmitoleic acid, which is similar in structure to natural skin oil. This means it absorbs quickly and without residue, leaving the skin soft and supple while strengthening the skin barrier. The vitamins A, B, and E it contains, as well as secondary plant substances, promote regeneration and protect against moisture loss. The oil has a soothing effect on dry, chapped, or irritated skin and can also be used on scars or after sunburn.
