Karanja oil has the ability to powerfully absorb UV rays. It has a purely plant-based sun protection factor of 30+, which, however, cannot be declared according to the EU Cosmetics Regulation, as only chemical or mineral UV protection is permitted. Karanja oil - also known as Pongamia oil - is obtained by gentle cold pressing from the seeds of the Indian Karanja tree.
The high-quality plant oil has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine to relieve skin diseases such as psoriasis, acne or eczema. Karanja oil is famous for its antibacterial and antifungal properties. It inhibits inflammation and soothes irritated, itchy skin.
