Niacinamide - Vitamin B3
Niacinamide / Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide)
Niacin, niacinamide or vitamin B3 is found in all cells of our organism. This essential vitamin can only be produced in very small quantities by the body itself. It is mainly absorbed through food, including Yeast, nuts, chia seeds, lentils, cashews, dried apricots, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, whole wheat flour, eggs, fish or meat.
Niacinamide is a skin-friendly and highly effective antioxidant that is also recommended for skin problems such as rosacea or acne. Here is an overview of the most important properties of niacinamide for skin and hair:
- stimulates the formation of ceramides, which strengthen the skin barrier.
- has an anti-inflammatory effect on acne and a soothing effect on rosacea.
- reduces sebum production.
- helps to shrink pores.
- stimulates the formation of collagen fibers.
- Antioxidant properties: protects against cell damage caused by free radicals, for example against cell damage caused by UV radiation.
- ensures a more even skin tone: In the fight against pigment spots or acne scars, niacinamide reduces the transport of melanin-containing pigment cells to the skin surface. This ensures a more even skin tone.
- in hair care: strengthens the skin barrier of the scalp, stimulates the production of keratin, revitalizes the weakened hair fiber. Niacinamide stimulates the microcirculation of the scalp, improves the supply of the hair roots and can thus promote hair growth.
