Pomegranate seed oil (INCI: Punica Granatum Seed Oil ) is a precious active ingredient with remarkable skincare potential. Extracted from the tiny seeds of the pomegranate fruit, it contains a high concentration of the rare punicic acid – a polyunsaturated omega-5 fatty acid with powerful cell-protective properties. This deeply regenerating oil is particularly suitable for sensitive, dry, or mature skin and naturally supports skin renewal.
Origin & Production
The pomegranate tree originates from Western Asia and is now cultivated primarily in the Mediterranean region. The bright red fruits contain numerous small seeds from which the valuable oil is extracted. Around 100 kg of pomegranates are needed to produce one liter of oil, making pomegranate seed oil one of the most expensive vegetable oils in the world.
