The myrto organic face care is vegan and complies with all common natural cosmetic certifications such as Natrue, BDIH, Cosmos or Ecocert. We only use natural ingredients. All plant extracts come from controlled organic cultivation or controlled wild collection. The entire myrto face care is free of silicones, petroleum derivatives, alcohol, preservatives and fragrances. Like all myrto products, facial care bears the Cruelty Free & Vegan seal in accordance with the strict guidelines of PETA, Germany's largest animal rights organization. Organic face care without alcohol - for more moisture
With regard to the best possible skin tolerance, we do not use any ingredients that could irritate sensitive skin. Experience has shown that alcohol dries out the skin - even in low concentrations for sensitive skin. Alcohol penetrates the protective barrier layer of the skin and dissolves the structure of the skin's own lipids (fats). Many natural cosmetics companies use the preservative properties of alcohol and use 15% alcohol and more in their recipes to make their products last longer. The usual denaturants in cosmetically used alcohol are also problematic when using alcohol - declared on the label as "Alcohol denat.". These additives are known to be irritating to the skin and potentially allergenic.
Organic face care emulsifier-free - for a strong skin barrier
All myrto products do without the usual emulsifiers. Emulsifiers - mostly based on palm oil in natural cosmetics - combine water-containing and oil-containing components of a cream. However, classic emulsions have the unpleasant side effect of loosening and washing out the skin's own protective substances from the top layer of skin. The ability of the skin to store moisture is weakened by this, the skin dries out more and more.

As a result, important functions of the skin can regenerate: it can again bind more and sustainably moisture and, moreover, protect itself again from harmful external environmental influences. Organic face care without preservatives
Preservatives are potential triggers of skin irritation or allergies. They can disrupt sensitive metabolic processes. In the EU Cosmetics Regulation there is a list of 54 additives that are listed as preservatives. In order to avoid such controversial and unnecessary additives, we use a herbal combination of organic acids in our puristic organic cosmetics. For example, aniseed acid is obtained from Indian basil and star anise, and laevulinic acid from genetically modified maize starch. Both regulate the pH value of the skin and thus improve its natural acid protection. The excellent skin care effect in combination with the antimicrobial effect enables optimal skin-compatible natural cosmetics without the use of preservatives.
Organic face care without fragrances
In a time of increasing intolerance and fragrance allergies, synthetic fragrances in particular are considered to be highly problematic. Although the risk potential of synthetic fragrances is well known, there are unfortunately hardly any scientific studies on the effects.
In this context, a study by the natural cosmetics association BDIH showed that 50 test persons who had reacted sensitively to the isolated fragrance geraniol in the allergy test showed no allergic reaction to essential oils that contain geraniol as a natural component. Cosmetics with synthetic and isolated fragrances therefore have a significantly higher allergy potential. Therefore, only natural essential oils should be used in natural cosmetics instead of isolated and newly combined "natural" fragrances, as is unfortunately also permitted with certified natural cosmetics.
If you are allergic to fragrance or simply want to avoid fragrances in your facial care out of conviction, you should look for fragrance-free products. So-called "fragrance-neutral" products may still contain fragrances that are supposed to mask the odor of certain ingredients. You can only be certain after an analysis of the list of ingredients on the product label. According to the EU Cosmetics Regulation, the 26 fragrances that are known for their high allergy potential must be declared.
The irritation-free myrto face care is 100% fragrance-free. This does not mean that the products smell completely neutral. Rather, the perceptible, typical fragrance of the cold-pressed oils and natural plant extracts used with their high active ingredient content is completely retained. This allergen-free natural smell is based exclusively on the 100% controlled organic vegetable oils and high-purity vegetable extracts.
100% non-comedogenic ingredients
Particularly recommended, anti-comedogenic vegetable oils for impure, oily or combination skin are, for example, jojoba, argan or grape seed oil. Jojoba oil regulates sebum production, cannot be metabolized by the dreaded acne bacteria and allows pimples to heal faster. Argan oil has an antibacterial effect against impurities, provides a lot of moisture and can visibly improve the complexion in acne. Grape seed oil with its high content of linoleic acid strengthens the skin barrier, smoothes the skin and works against cornification of the skin. Grape seed oil is also known for its sebum-regulating and anti-inflammatory effects for skin problems.
Plant extracts with antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, soothing or redness-reducing agents such as beta-glucan, green tea, licorice root, rosemary, sage, copaiba, lucuma or magnolia bark also have a powerful anti-comedogenic effect. Active ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, aloe vera or glycerin, which provide the skin with additional moisture, are also recommended against impurities.
Organic facial care without palm oil
While it now has to be declared in food, palm oil in natural cosmetics is still hidden behind various, even changing, names. It is therefore hardly possible for the consumer to recognize and avoid processed palm oil in cosmetics. Many of the emulsifiers, fatty alcohols and esterified lipids from refined palm oil are also considered comedogenic, i.e. they favor blemishes such as blackheads, pimples and acne.
There are a number of important reasons to counter this trend with an alternative and to take responsibility: You can do it without palm oil! In this sense, all myrto creams, lotions and conditioners are held together with fruit and grain fibers, not with emulsifiers made from palm oil, but without emulsifiers. The natural active ingredient beta-glucan from oats also provides a powerful anti-inflammatory, anti-comedogenic effect. Instead of consistency-giving fatty alcohols and ester oils from refined palm oil, myrto uses natural, cold-pressed organic vegetable oils and butters with their full spectrum of activity.
