The essential petitgrain oil is obtained by steam distillation of leaves and branch tips of the bitter orange tree. The bitter orange tree, formerly known as Pomeranze, belongs to the rhododendron plant family. The bitter orange tree is mainly cultivated in the Mediterranean. The essential oil’s scent is fresh, spicy and citrusy. It is reminiscent of neroli or bergamot oil. Petitgrain oil vitalises, spreads a cheerful mood and promotes concentration.
