Niacinamide for an even skin

An even, radiant complexion, fewer wrinkles, pimples and pigment spots: niacinamide is one of the most popular, most effective and skin-friendly active ingredients in cosmetics.

What is niacinamide?

Niacinamide is a water-soluble, biologically active form of vitamin B3 - an essential cellular nutrient found in all cells of our organism. This vitamin is only produced in very small amounts by the body itself and cannot be stored. We absorb vitamin B3 mainly through food: for example from nuts, green vegetables, dried apricots, yeast, black tea, coffee, whole grain cereals, eggs, fish or meat.

What are the effects of niacinamide?

Niacinamide is one of the best-researched ingredients in natural cosmetics. Its high effectiveness and at the same time particularly good tolerability has been proven by numerous independent clinical studies.

Thanks to its powerful antioxidant properties, niacinamide protects the skin from cell-damaging free radicals and counteracts the signs of skin aging. It inhibits inflammatory processes and helps to reduce acne, it increases the formation of collagen fibers in the connective tissue and strengthens the skin's protective barrier. Almost every skin type can benefit from niacinamide.

  • Niacinamide for oily and impure combination skin
Oily or combination skin often suffers from redness, pimples and enlarged pores. Niacinamide has the ability to minimize enlarged pores, allowing skin to appear more even. Niacinamide helps to balance the skin's sebum production. At the same time, vitamin B3 has an antibacterial effect and inhibits inflammation. Niacinamide has also proven effective for skin problems such as rosacea.
  • Niacinamide for dry skin
Niacinamide stimulates the formation of the skin's own lipids (ceramides), which form the skin's protective layer. It strengthens the skin barrier and improves the skin's ability to store moisture. The result: the complexion no longer looks sallow or tired, the feeling of tightness decreases, the skin appears more supple, radiant and smooth.
  • Niacinamide against wrinkles
In mature skin, niacinamide delays skin aging by stimulating the production of collagen fibers in the connective tissue. As a result, wrinkles are smoothed out and the skin remains elastic. The first signs of skin aging such as fine lines around the eyes or on the forehead can also be successfully combated.

  • Niacinamide against pigment disorders
In the fight against hyperpigmentation such as age spots or acne marks, niacinamide inhibits melanin synthesis and ensures a more even skin tone. Studies show a significantly improved skin structure, less skin redness and pigment disorders. At the same time, niacinamide protects against new cell damage caused by free radicals and thus counteracts skin aging.

Combine niacinamide with other active ingredients

  • Niacinamide and Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid as an endogenous component binds large amounts of moisture. It pads the skin from the inside, tightens and keeps the skin elastic. While niacinamide strengthens the skin barrier, hyaluronic acid is the ideal supplement for firmer, smoother skin and an even complexion.

  • Niacinamide and Vitamin C
Vitamin C, like niacinamide, has antioxidant properties. Both active ingredients stimulate the formation of collagen fibers in the connective tissue, they promote the healing process in the event of inflammation, they lighten pigment spots and delay skin aging. Therefore, it makes a lot of sense when you combine niacinamide and vitamin C in your skin care routine.

  • Niacinamide & Bakuchiol
Bakuchiol and niacinamide are also a powerful duo for a healthy skin structure. Like niacinamide, bakuchiol stimulates the body's own production of collagen, which improves the skin's resilience and elasticity. Bakuchiol also has the property of promoting the skin's regeneration process and reducing pigment spots and pimple marks.

Niacinamide in pregnancy and lactation

Skin care products with niacinamide during pregnancy and breastfeeding are considered safe. Nevertheless, it is always advisable to discuss your skin care with a doctor. Due to the hormonal changes during pregnancy, the skin can in rare cases suddenly become drier or even more prone to impurities. In any case, with niacinamide you have a versatile active ingredient at your disposal, which is also suitable for different skin conditions during pregnancy.

Niacinamide in use

In order to achieve the best possible effectiveness and visible success, it is important that you use niacinamide regularly over a longer period of time. Try to integrate the new Niacinamide Complex Serum into your skin care routine 1 to 2 times a day if possible.

Depending on your individual skin condition, it is best to slowly approach your optimal use concentration. If you have highly sensitive skin or are trying niacinamide for the first time, a concentration of around 4% is recommended. This concentration is contained, for example, in our Anti-Pollution Serum M for sensitive combination skin and also in the Brightening Vitamin Serum.

You can then gradually increase the concentration as you gain experience using niacinamide. Mature skin in particular usually benefits from higher dosages of over 10%, as you can find in the Niacinamide Complex Serum with 12% vitamin B3. You can massage the serum in selectively as an intensive measure or spread it all over the face - under a serum, a face cream or a face oil. Alternatively, you can mix the Niacinamide Booster directly with your face cream.
