Alcohol (alcohol) - organic alcohol, pure undenatured spirit of wine
Organic alcohol is obtained from grain or other plants containing starch or sugar. Alcohol has an antimicrobial effect. Denatured alcohol (Alcohol denat.), which is made inedible with denaturing agents, is mostly used in cosmetic products. This avoids the spirits tax that exists in Germany, which is over EUR 13 per liter for spirits-alcohol 99%.
The denaturants prescribed for denatured alcohol are - according to the EU Cosmetics Regulation - not to be declared on the ingredients list. The problem with this is that these denaturants have been shown to irritate and sensitize the skin. In addition, they are suspected of being reprotoxic (genetically damaging) and, as an endocrine disruptor, of unbalancing our hormonal system. Denatured, denatured alcohol is mainly used in facial tonic, hair tonic, shampoos and hair styling products. It also increases the preservation in other skin care products.
We also use alcohol in a low concentration of less than 3% in our Finisher hair care sprays to improve the absorption behavior.
